Roseville Girls’ Softball gives special recognition to players who have shown excellent skills, sportsmanship, and leadership throughout the season. These recognition awards are presented at closing ceremonies or alternate recognition space.
This award is presented to one girl from EACH team in all divisions. It is voted on by the girls, NOT the management or coaching staff. It is a secret vote and ONLY the manager will know the winner until the trophies are presented at closing ceremonies.
This award is given to the most improved player on all teams in the 6U and 8U divisions only. It is determined by the coaching staff.
This award can recognize and award up to a maximum of ten percent (10%) in the 10u-16u divisions. The 6U and 8U divisions do not select MVP’s. MVP’s are selected through nomination and voting by Coaches and Managers.
Kristy Reed played in Roseville a number of years ago. She died after playing only one season. She was an outstanding ballplayer. The league presents an award to one player from each division every year who best demonstrates the spirit, attitude and love of the game exemplified by Kristy. Each girl receives a trophy and her name is engraved on the large league trophy with the former winners. There will be one nominee from each team, chosen by the coach and manager. Special criteria have been determined by the Board and a nomination form has been developed for use by the management staff in submitting their team’s nominee. The criteria generally require that the girl demonstrate qualities of good sportsmanship and teamwork, be a good student and team leader, display a positive attitude and be an above average player. Nominations from each team are then voted on by a selection committee and announced at the ceremonies. Winners do not know in advance of their selection.
